Painter, motorcyclist and collector of objects from the Old West, Nicholas Coleman lives on the edge of the old frontier town, although now very civilised, Provo, Utah. With one foot in the old realm of self-sufficiency and living off the land and the other in modernity, Nicholas Colman follows in the footsteps of his father Michael, an internationally acclaimed artist in the genre of the American outdoors and the Old West. Both have a certain taste for automobiles and motorcycles and pictured bellow is father and son with dad’s Porsche 356. Although in a similar genre to his mentor, Nicholas sometimes moves away from the life of the pristine wilderness and the lone pioneer and introduces the steel horse into his work (bottom). This reflects his interest in classic British and American motorcycles and included in his collection are 1961 Triumph 110, 1967 Harley-Davidson Sprint and 1949 Harley-Davidson Panhead. Here at Men’s File we have been following the career of this man for over a decade and his output continues to develop into unexpected and exciting new areas. We suggest you follow him too.
