Algy McCormack X Lewis Leathers

Photography: Nick Clements, Styling: Saaya Nohara

Building a well-deserved reputation for himself and his workshop Vulcan Classics in the world of classic, exotic and now veteran car restorations, the youngest of the Mc Cormack dynasty ploughs his own furrow in craftsmanship and style. That said, for this photo-shoot with the historic British biker kit makers Lewis Leathers, the dedicated rider has borrowed his brother Merlin’s elegantly fettled 1942 WLA45.

Based on the river Thames at Brentford, alongside Duke of London and Romance of Rust, he also shares this ultra-hip enclave with an artisan baker, a cool pub, a pizzeria and more besides – all open to the public. Seen here sporting a horse hide Super Monza jacket with 1939 Pattern flying boots and then testing the Mudlarker jacket (in British waxed cotton) and carrying the Lewis Leathers helmet bag, he can’t seem to decide whether he’s dressing for the Kings Road in 1978 or a Lambretta Club outing in 1958. twenty years difference in the two jacket types but you couldn’t get a cigarette paper between them in terms of contemporary desirability. What a decision!
